Research Degrees

The opportunities for research training through doctoral and masters programs are continuing to increase at UTS:IT. All students work with the support and guidance of supervisors with expertise in the area of their study.

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program involves the survey and mastery of a large body of literature in the chosen topic together with a substantial body of work that demonstrates originality and makes a significant contribution to knowledge in the field. The PhD program is offered in full-time (3 years) and part-time (4.5 years) modes.

The Master of Science in Computing Sciences (Research) program requires mastery of a substantial body of literature on the chosen field with significant original work by the candidate. The masters program is also offered in full-time (2 years) and part-time (3 years) modes.

The one-year Honours degree gives undergraduate students the opportunity to study an area of knowledge in depth under expert supervision.
