Our Masters programs in Information Technology and Internetworking offer students a two year extended version with the option specialisations reflecting industry demands.

Master of Information Technology (Extended)

Course Code: C04218
Course Duration: Two years
Experience Requirement: No work experience required.
This course will enable graduates with a Bachelors degree to develop current, practical, and advanced knowledge and skills in specialised areas in IT. The course will prepare students for professional positions in information systems, software engineering, data mining, business intelligence technology, networking, IT management, and computer graphics and gaming. The course has Professional Level accreditation from the Australian Computer Society. The up-to-date and industry-oriented nature of the program means our graduates are better prepared for employment and ready to excel in a growing and increasingly global industry.

Master of Information Technology

Course Code: C04157
Course Duration: One year for IT Graduates OR 1.5 years for Non-IT Graduates
Experience Requirement: No work experience required.
This course offers flexibility and a wide range of subjects and specialisations to allow graduates with a Bachelors degree to develop current and practical IT professional skills based on their interests and industry demands. Students with a Computing/IT Bachelor degree may qualify for advanced standing and complete the program in one year. Non-IT graduates will acquire comprehensive IT knowledge and skills for a professional career in IT. The course has Professional Level accreditation from the Australian Computer Society. The current and industry-oriented nature of the program means our graduates are better prepared for employment and ready to excel in a growing and increasingly global industry.

Master of Science in Internetworking (Extended)

Course Code: C04224
Course Duration: Two years
Experience Requirement: No work experience required.

The Extended version of the Master of Science in Internetworking program allows students to take the CCNP embedded subjects over an additional semester. This will offer students the opportunity to extend their networking knowledge and skills and combine them with other specialised skills to further enhance their career prospects. Specialisations may be chosen in areas such as: Business; Law; Project Management; Research; Security; or Software Engineering.

Master of Science in Internetworking

Course Code: C04160
Course Duration: One and a half years
Experience Requirement: No work experience required.
Network design, management and security are growing areas among telecommunication, mobile, wireless and many other companies. This course will give you a practical grounding in networking, experience writing networked applications using Java and the opportunity for specialised study in areas of your interest. Resources developed by Cisco Systems are utilised during the course and are supported by excellent labs and equipment which enable you to develop hands-on experience, highly valued by employers. This course will also prepare you for Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) industry certification.

Master of Interactive Multimedia

Course Code: C04158
Course Duration: One and a half years
Experience Requirement: Two years relevant experience or a Graduate Diploma in Interactive Multimedia.
This course is for people interested in the growing industry of multimedia and has a focus on professional output. You will develop a strong understanding of the social and economic impact of multimedia technologies as well as the critical thinking skills necessary for work in a range of roles within the industry. This course is offered in conjunction with the Institute of Interactive Media and Learning at UTS.
