Indigenous Participation in IT Project
The Indigenous Participation in IT (IPIT) Project is run at UTS to make it easier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to get involved and participate in IT. We want to make sure Indigenous people can study, and have a career, in IT.
If you are an Indigenous Australian, the IPIT Project will give you the chance to get a head start in your IT studies through the Indigenous Pre-IT Course. The Pre-IT course gives you a chance to try some IT and see if you are interested in an IT career, or a chance to improve your IT skills. You don't need any experience, just an interest and willingness to learn. No fee is charged for the course and we can help you find accommodation if you do not live close to UTS.
The skills you will gain through the Indigenous Pre-IT course will equip you for further study in IT, improve your ability with computers in your current job, or just help you be more confident using computers for fun. UTS:IT staff will be on-hand to support you while you are studying.

"UTS IT courses are a cradle that's helping Indigenous Australians move forward and embrace IT. In fact, it's also a springboard into a wonderful world of opportunity. Right now, I can't think of anything more important than gaining and applying IT skills. Skills that will help Aboriginal people take their rightful place as expert users of new technologies."
